Even though we already have the answers to our problems, we sometimes need a sympathetic ear to help us get beyond a difficult situation.

For me, it is important to provide a welcoming environment where clients may speak openly about their experiences in their own time and feel safe doing so.  I have been working with clients dealing with various mental health issues, using diverse types of therapy, including

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Solution Focused-Brief Therapy
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • EMDR Therapy

  and more

Therapy Approaches

Client Centered

Client-centered therapy is an approach to psychotherapy based on a belief that the client is best able to decide what to explore and how. It is unique in a field where the therapist characteristically acts like an expert who knows how to resolve the client's problems.

Solution Focused

Solution-focused therapy, also called solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), places far more importance on discussing solutions than problems. Beyond understanding what the problem is and deciding how to address it, solution-focused therapy will not dwell on every detail of the problem you are experiencing.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a counselling method that involves enhancing a patient's motivation to change by means of four guiding principles, represented by the acronym RULE: Resist the righting reflex; Understand the patient's own motivations; Listen with empathy; and Empower the patient.

Cognitive Behavioral

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a common type of talk therapy (psychotherapy). By working with a mental health counselor (psychotherapist or therapist) in a structured way and attending a limited number of sessions, CBT helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy(DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a modified type of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Its main goals are to teach people how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others.

Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing(EMDR)

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a mental health treatment technique. This method involves moving your eyes a specific way while you process traumatic memories. EMDR's goal is to help you heal from trauma or other distressing life experiences.

Let's Talk

The first step in therapy is talking. Let's find a time where we can meet and talk about what's on your mind.
